Indonesia hosts the 10th World Water Forum under the “Water for Shared Prosperity” theme. Members of the Parliament of Uzbekistan are also participating in it.
Chairman of the Committee on Development of the Aral Sea Region and Ecology of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Bori Alikhanov addressed the forum. He informed the participants about the state of water resources in the Central Asian region and measures taken to solve water problems in the context of climate change in Uzbekistan.
During the forum, which will run until May 26, international experts, scientists, and parliamentarians will discuss issues of saving water resources, preventing water shortages, providing the population with clean drinking water, and complying with sanitary requirements.
The participants will also address water management to ensure climate resilience, sector financing, and the development of early warning systems to address transboundary water issues and prevent drought.
