WNAM MONITORING: Morinari Watanabe of Japan was re-elected as the head of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) at its 85th Congress in Doha, Qatar, Kazinform News Agency cites the National Olympic Committee.
Morinari Watanabe has led the Federation since 2017.
Danisa Duysengalieva, the Vice President of the Kazakhstan Gymnastics Federation, has been elected as a member of the FIG Council.
Additionally, Alua Bekturova, who also serves as the Vice President of the Kazakhstan Gymnastics Federation, has become a member of the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics Technical Committee.
It was previously reported that the national team of Kazakhstan had grabbed two gold medals at the FIG World Challenge Cup 2024 in artistic gymnastics held in Szombathely, Hungary.
