ISLAMABAD (WNAM REPORT): Foundation University celebrated its MBBS Convocation at Jinnah Auditorium, Foundation University School of Health Sciences (FUSH). Chief Guest Lieutenant General Anwar Ali Haider, HI (M), (Retd), Managing Director, Fauji Foundation, was joined by Major General Muhammad Kaleem Asif, HI (M), (Retd), Rector Foundation University Islamabad, Maj Gen Imran Fazal HI (M) (R), Director of the Foundation University School of Health Sciences, Major General Tassawar Hussain, HI (M), (Retd), Associate Dean (Clinical Sciences, Foundation University Medical College), and Brig Muzamil Hasan Najmi, (Retd), Associate Dean (Basic Sciences), Foundation University Medical College.
A total of 148 degrees were awarded, with 5 gold medals for top performers, 2 gold medals for best graduates, 6 silver medals for second position holders, 25 certificates of distinction, and 92 merit certificates.
The Director of FUSH delivered an inspiring address, celebrating the graduates achievements and highlighting the university’s legacy of nurturing adaptable, compassionate medical professionals since its founding in 2000. He encouraged graduates to embrace their roles with expertise and empathy, emphasizing their potential impact on lives.
He also acknowledged the vital role of parents, families, and faculty in supporting graduates, praising educators for their dedication in shaping future healthcare leaders. He concluded with heartfelt prayers as graduates embark on their noble journey, urging them to advance global healthcare with confidence and compassion.
The Chief Guest addressed the assembly, marking the day as a celebration of a new generation of healthcare professionals. He emphasized graduates on the importance of blending technical expertise with empathy, reinforcing their responsibility to uphold patient trust and maintain the human aspect of medicine.
He praised Foundation University’s evolution into a reputable centre for learning, commending initiatives in Dental Sciences and Nursing. He recognized the faculty’s contributions to graduates’ success in national and international postgraduate exams and urged them to advocate for cost-effective healthcare practices while addressing healthcare challenges in Pakistan.
