WNAM REPORT: On January 25, the President of Uzbekistan signed a resolution on establishing the International Turkic States University in Tashkent.
The new university will function as a non-governmental educational institution to train highly qualified specialists in engineering, construction, logistics, information technology and programming, healthcare, agriculture, and the food industry in accordance with international standards.
The main objectives of the university include the introduction of modern curricula in cooperation with leading foreign educational institutions, especially in Türkiye, as well as conducting scientific research and establishing partnerships with international universities and scientific organizations. The professional development of the teaching staff through internships abroad will become a significant aspect.
Starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, the educational process will be organized based on the programs of Turkish higher education institutions included in the top 1000 world rankings. Tuition at the university will be provided on a fee-based contract basis, while the university will determine the admission conditions and payment amount.
In addition, a governing council will be established to coordinate the university’s activities, which will make it possible to more effectively implement the intended educational and scientific goals.
