WNAM REPORT: President Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Governor-General of New Zealand Cindy Kiro on the occasion of the national holiday – Waitangi Day, as per reports.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed his sincere wishes for good health, happiness and well-being to Cindy Kiro, and peace, further progress and prosperity to all the people of New Zealand.
The Treaty of Waitangi was signed on 6 February 1840 between 540 Maori chiefs and the British Crown. Its main provisions concerned the sovereignty of New Zealand and the rights and freedoms of Maori.
