WNAM MONITORING: The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan, Atajan Movlamov, emphasized the strategic significance of the country’s energy initiatives during the roundtable “Embassy Dialogue on Regional Cooperation,” held on Thursday in Islamabad.
The diplomat specifically highlighted major projects such as the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline and the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), according to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Pakistan.
Movlamov noted that constructing the Serhetabat-Herat section of the TAPI gas pipeline represents an important step in developing regional energy infrastructure. He stated that these projects not only enhance energy security but also stimulate economic growth, create new jobs, and contribute to environmental sustainability.
During the discussions, participants recognized Turkmenistan’s contribution to developing regional cooperation.
They explored the prospects for expanding political and trade-economic ties, strengthening energy cooperation, developing cultural diplomacy, and increasing resilience to climate change.
The roundtable “Embassy Dialogue on Regional Cooperation” took place at the Islamabad Regional Studies Institute (IRSI). Senator Mushahid Hussain, President of IRSI Jafar Saleem, and ambassadors from Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan participated in the event.
