WNAM MONITORING: National leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a phone conversation on Monday with the President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, during which he invited the Iranian leader to participate in an international forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, scheduled for December 12, 2025, in Ashgabat.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that on that day, the country would also celebrate the 30th anniversary of its permanent neutrality, and the participation of the Iranian leader would significantly contribute to the success of the events. The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty stated that an official invitation would soon be sent to the Iranian side, as reported by official media of Turkmenistan.
During the conversation, both sides emphasized the high level of Turkmen-Iranian relations, based on the principles of good neighborliness and mutual respect. The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty congratulated Masoud Pezeshkian on Iran’s Revolution Day, conveying sincere wishes for the well-being and prosperity of the friendly people. The President of Iran expressed gratitude for the warm words and highlighted the importance of strengthening the partnership between the two countries.
The parties also discussed economic cooperation. The national leader of the Turkmen people proposed to hold the next meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission, including the expansion of partnership in areas such as energy, transport, and industry in its agenda.
At the end of the conversation, both sides confirmed their readiness to further develop bilateral cooperation aimed at achieving common goals and interests.
