WNAM MONITORING: Turkmenistan is considering joining International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions to strengthen its legal framework. This issue was discussed during a meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Beata Andres, Assistant Director-General and Regional Director of the ILO, on Wednesday in Ashgabat.
The sides reviewed the results of their joint work in 2024 within the framework of the Roadmap of Activities for 2024-2025 and outlined key areas of cooperation for 2025, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
In turn, the Turkmen side proposed organizing training sessions and seminars involving ILO experts. The meeting participants also paid special attention to joint events planned for 2025, and declared the International Year of Peace and Trust.
During the talks, they also discussed preparations for the International Labour Conference and other aspects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the ILO.
