Jakarta ( WNAM MONITORING): Deputy Minister of Manpower Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan has announced that at least 58,000 job vacancies will soon be available.
“In the near future, there will be 58,000 job openings. This is a positive development amid the current global uncertainty,” he said in a statement on Monday.
Of these jobs, 10,000 will be created by footwear manufacturer Ultimate Noble Indonesia at its newly inaugurated factory in Garut, West Java, while the remaining 48,000 will be generated by two other companies.
According to Gerungan, Chinese automotive company BYD Auto is currently building a factory in Subang, West Java, which will create 18,000 jobs.
Additionally, Huawei Technologies will establish a factory expected to generate at least 30,000 job opportunities.
“Hopefully, conditions will continue to improve so that we can better anticipate global challenges,” Gerungan said.
He also welcomed positive developments at textile giant Sritex, which plans to rehire workers laid off in late February.
Furthermore, he urged Ultimate Noble Indonesia to prioritize hiring former employees of the bankrupt false eyelash manufacturer Danbi International in Garut.
Currently, Ultimate Noble Indonesia employs 1,100 workers, with plans to increase that number to 4,000 soon.
Gerungan encouraged all parties to remain optimistic about Indonesia’s economic prospects.
