This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, presenting a number of proposals to the head of state on the development of the country’s international exhibition activities, TDH reports.
The initiative proposes to create a special fund to organize the exhibition and hold negotiations with major international companies. These measures are implemented in accordance with the Concept of International Exhibition Activities of Turkmenistan for 2024-2025, approved by the Presidential Decree in August 2023.
An important step in strengthening the country’s position in the international exhibition arena was the election of Turkmenistan to the Administrative and Budgetary Committee of the BIE for 2024-2025 at the 173rd session of the General Assembly of the organization in Paris on November 28, 2023. The next meeting of this committee with the participation of the Secretary General of the BIE was held on March 19, 2025 in Ashgabat.
Rashid Meredov also presented proposals to ensure Turkmenistan’s participation in the upcoming world specialized exhibitions: Green EXPO-2027 in Yokohama (Japan) and EXPO-2027 in Belgrade (Serbia). It is additionally proposed to develop a program for 2025-2027 to organize seminars and improve the qualifications of Turkmen specialists in the field of exhibition and fair activities.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, after hearing the report, noted the effectiveness of the country’s interaction with the International Exhibitions Bureau and instructed to continue work in this direction.
