Tashkent: President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the production cluster of the Defense Industry Agency in Tashkent region.
At the initiative and under the leadership of the head of state, a set of measures is being carried out to reform and comprehensively modernize the national Armed Forces. The goal is a gradual transformation of the army that meets modern requirements and serves as a guarantor of state independence and security of Uzbekistan.
In recent years, training grounds with the necessary infrastructure have been created to increase the efficiency of operational and combat training of troops. Importance is also attached to the modernization of the domestic defense industry. In January last year, the President instructed to transfer the Defense Industry Agency to the Ministry of Defense for further development.
The agency is actively working on mastering the production of military-technical products, acquiring and supplying modern military equipment, as well as modernizing existing weapons.
During the visit, the President received detailed reports on measures taken and plans to improve the production potential and material and technical base of the Defense Industry Agency.
In order to expand the capabilities of enterprises, large-scale construction work and reconstruction of facilities were carried out. The equipment repair plant and the Central storage base for automotive equipment of the Ministry of Defense were transferred to the territory of the new cluster. The cluster enterprises are integrated, a network of interconnected repair shops has been created, performing work on the repair and modernization of weapons and military equipment, as well as precision metal processing.
The President noted the need to attract advanced technologies, create new jobs and instructed to further improve the activities of enterprises.
As part of the implementation of green technologies, solar panels were installed on the territory of the cluster to save energy. Modernized samples of military equipment and weapons were also presented, the repair and modernization of which were carried out at the production facilities of the cluster.
The President launched the work of the enterprise to produce new types of military products and emphasized the importance of ensuring high-quality products and improving the qualifications of engineers and specialists.
At the end of the visit, the President set specific tasks for those in charge to further expand the production capabilities of defense industry enterprises.
