WNAM MONITORING: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in an article published by the Chinese newspaper People’s Daily, underscored the promising prospects of the strategic partnership between Ashgabat and Beijing, emphasizing the pivotal role of energy and transportation. The article was highlighted by Turkmenistan’s official media on Sunday.
According to the head of state, over the three decades since gaining independence, Turkmenistan and China have elevated their relations to a level of comprehensive cooperation based not only on political and economic interests but also on deep-rooted historical and cultural ties dating back to the era of the ancient Silk Road.
Berdimuhamedov noted that the Turkmenistan–China gas pipeline, which was launched in 2009, has become a symbol of long-term collaboration and a key factor in ensuring energy security across Eurasia. He also identified the development of East–West transport corridors and the expansion of logistics infrastructure as priority areas for future cooperation. President emphasized the growing importance of humanitarian exchanges between the two countries, noting that increased youth interest in learning about history and culture provides a strong foundation for sustainable long-term partnership.
Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the deepening cooperation between Turkmenistan and China will contribute to the region’s sustainable development and help strengthen global stability.
