ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): Ethiopia is being promoted as a globally competitive investment destination through the advancement of its investment opportunities, Minister of Transport and Logistics Alemu Sime Feyisa said today at the 5th Pakistan-Africa Business Development Summit and Conference, taking place at the Millennium Hall in Addis Ababa with the participation of more than 110 business delegates from Pakistan alongside companies from across the African continent.
In his remarks, Minister Alemu highlighted that the summit demonstrates the growing strength of trade and investment ties between Africa and Pakistan. He underscored that Ethiopiaโs ongoing macroeconomic reforms are creating an enabling environment that further enhances its appeal to international investors.
Ambassador Dawano Kedir, Director General for Middle East, Asia and Pacific Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, noted that the bilateral relationship between Ethiopia and Pakistan continues to grow across investment and various development sectors.
Former Ethiopian Ambassador to Pakistan, Jemal Beker, emphasized that the 5th Pakistan-Africa Business Development Summit reflects the close and enduring relationship between Ethiopia and Pakistan and will help promote Ethiopiaโs and Africaโs vast development potential. He added that the growing cooperation and partnership between the two countries will continue to deepen.
Leading the Pakistani delegation, Federal Minister of Commerce Jam Kamal Khan stated that Ethiopiaโs trade prospects, business opportunities, and consistent policy direction, coupled with its status as the headquarters of the African Union, create a strong foundation for collaborative policy linkages.
Pakistanโs Ambassador to Ethiopia, Atif Sharif, commended Ethiopiaโs conducive investment climate and ongoing multifaceted development transformation, noting that these factors will further strengthen Pakistanโs trade and investment engagement in Africa.
