Foundation University: Convocation for MBBS Session 2020–2024 and MS (CPT) Spring & Fall 2023 Held

November ( WNAM REPORT ):Foundation University Islamabad held its Convocation Ceremony on November 4, 2025, at the Jinnah Auditorium, Foundation University School of Health Sciences (FUSH), to celebrate the achievements of graduates from the MBBS Session 2020–2024 and MS (CPT) Spring and Fall 2023.
Lt Gen Anwar Ali Hyder, MD Fauji Foundation, graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest. He was joined by Maj Gen Muhammad Kaleem Asif, (Retd), Rector, Foundation University Islamabad, and Maj Gen Prof. Dr Qudrat Ullah Malik, (Retd), Director FUSH and Principal FUMC, along with senior professors, deans, and distinguished faculty members.
A total of 155 degrees were awarded, including 7 gold medals, 6 silver medals, 29 distinction certificates, and 91 merit certificates for MBBS graduates, as well as 2 distinction and 2 merit certificates for MS (CPT) graduates — recognizing the outstanding academic performance of the students.
Maj Gen Prof. Dr Qudrat Ullah Malik congratulated the graduates and their families, highlighting the university’s ongoing commitment to producing skilled, ethical, and compassionate healthcare professionals. He spoke about the institution’s academic progress, global research recognition, and the recent World Physiotherapy accreditation as major milestones. Reflecting on the evolving landscape of medicine, he noted that while technology and artificial intelligence have become integral to healthcare, true healing still begins with empathy. He urged the new doctors and therapists to unite innovation with compassion, reminding them that “the heart of medicine still beats with empathy.”
The Chief Guest, Lt Gen Anwar Ali Hyder, congratulated the graduates on their achievements and acknowledged the role of their families and teachers in their success. He commended the university’s continuous growth as a distinguished center of learning and its excellence across Medicine, Dentistry, Physical Medicine, Nursing Sciences, and Allied Health.
He also paid heartfelt tribute to the parents for their unwavering support, noting that their pride and sacrifices made this day possible. Lt Gen Hyder lauded the university’s academic growth and the tireless efforts of its faculty, commending Foundation University’s swift rise as a centre of excellence across Medicine, Dentistry, Physical Medicine, Nursing, and Allied Health. He reminded the graduates that the true measure of success lies not only in professional mastery but also in the compassion, empathy, and ethical conduct with which they serve humanity. Encouraging young doctors and therapists to engage in indigenous, cost-effective research to address Pakistan’s healthcare needs, he said,
“The true success of a doctor lies not only in skill, but in the compassion with which they serve humanity.”
The ceremony concluded with the Rector presenting a plaque of appreciation to the Chief Guest. The day ended on a note of pride, accomplishment, and inspiration for the graduates, their families, and the entire university community.
