Japan Education Fair 2025: New study opportunities in Japan

WNAM REPORT: Tashkent hosts the Japan Education Fair 2025.

The event was organized with the assistance of the Embassy of Japan in Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the University of Tsukuba, Nagoya University, and the Uzbek-Japanese Center.

Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan Kungratbay Sharipov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan Kenji Hirata, and Co-Director of Uzbekistan – Japan Center Mr. Hiroo Iwazaki, attended the opening ceremony.

In his speech, Minister K. Sharipov noted the consistent development of cooperation between the two countries in education and science, emphasizing its practical results. In particular, in recent years, joint educational programs, research projects, and student exchange programs have opened up vast opportunities for Uzbekistan youth.

It should be noted that this year, the Japan Education Fair 2025 is being held for the first time across three cities – Samarkand, Tashkent, and Bukhara. The event started on November 1 at Samarkand State University, is taking place in Tashkent today, and will continue on November 5 at Bukhara State University.

Eleven leading universities in Japan are taking part in the event. Within the framework of the Tashkent event, Japanese universities and scientific organizations presented their educational opportunities. Graduates of Japanese universities shared their impressions of studying and living in Japan.

Universities in Japan are offering various grant programs for students from Uzbekistan. The participants were also presented with the results of the Fifth Forum of Rectors of Universities of Uzbekistan and Japan, which was recently held in Samarkand. Within its framework, more than 30 Uzbekistan universities and over 15 Japanese universities have established direct partnerships, and more than 10 joint agreements have been signed.

The educational exhibition was open to a broad audience – schoolchildren, students, their parents, teachers, and anyone interested in studying in Japan.
