WNAM REPORT: Tashkent hosted the Uzbekistan – Pakistan Business Conference and the award ceremony for the 36th RCCI International Achievement Awards.
The event was organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan in cooperation with the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), with the assistance of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and several government and business structures. The event aims to expand trade and economic cooperation, develop investment projects, and strengthen direct contacts between entrepreneurs from the two countries.
Representatives of industrial, agricultural, pharmaceutical, textile, logistics, construction, IT, and travel companies attended the event.
In their greeting, the President of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Usman Shavkat, and other officials stressed the parties’ desire to develop economic ties, expand joint projects, and create new areas of cooperation.
It was noted that a favorable investment environment has been formed in Uzbekistan, and conditions have been created for the implementation of joint initiatives in digitalization, agriculture, energy, pharmaceuticals, and tourism. The parties expressed their intention to increase mutual trade turnover to $2 billion in the near future.
The event included B2B and B2G meetings, following which agreements were reached to launch joint production and investment projects. Memoranda of understanding were signed between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Rawalpindi, as well as between RCCI and Sky Electric.
In addition, partnership agreements have been signed between Caraway Pharmaceuticals and Perfect Future Medicine, Neutrics Global (Pvt) Ltd, ANT Group, Pak World Trade & Expo Center, and BMCA. These documents will form the basis for deepening business ties between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
The business program concluded with the award ceremony for the 36th RCCI International Achievement Awards, attended by the Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov.
