Major Smuggling Attempt Foiled, Betel Nuts Worth Rs. 15m Seized

ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): The Customs Enforcement team in Dera Ghazi Khan has successfully foiled a major smuggling attempt, seizing 3040 kg of smuggled betel nuts valued at approximately PKR 06 million. The contraband in 80 bags was hidden beneath the coal. Both the seized betel nuts and the Coal truck have been taken into custody under the Customs Act of 1969. The total estimated worth of the case is around PKR 15 million.

The Federal Board of Revenue will continue to rigorously enforce measures to prevent smuggling and ensure strict adherence to customs laws at all entry points and checkpoints. FBR remains committed to combating smuggling, protecting national revenue and ensuring the safety of public health and the economy.
