WNAM MONITORING: Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan have discussed creating joint production sites under a regional Made in Central Asia brand. The issue was taken up at the first meeting of the Council of Ministers of Trade and Investment of Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan in Tashkent, according to Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade.
Turkmenistan was represented by Nazar Agahanov, the minister of trade and foreign economic relations.
Participants reviewed measures to expand mutual trade, strengthen industrial integration and increase trade turnover to $20 billion.
The meeting focused on simplifying customs and border procedures, coordinating transport and logistics infrastructure and developing industrial hubs.
Ministers also discussed industrial cooperation and the joint development of raw material and technological resources.
A joint communiqué was signed at the end of the meeting, outlining agreements to deepen economic cooperation, expand joint production and establish new mechanisms for investment partnership.
