The population of this country has been increasing leaps and bounds at a very alarming speed. During last fifty years Pakistan ‘s population has doubled as compared to that of India and Bangla Desh thus posing many serious challenges in the society. Had family planning programme launched by Ayub Khan back in 1960s been allowed to run its full course and not torpedoed by some religo-political parties this issue could have been tackled satisfactorily long ago. Like us China too was facing a similar problem when Mao Tse Tung and his comrades took over as head of China in 1949 but thanks to a very effective family planning programme China succeeded in controlling it within a span of thirty years. Time has come when powers that be in this country take into confidence religious chieftains of all religious parties, apprise them of the inherent danger of unchecked grown and growing population and seek their support in bringing home to the common man the gravity of this issue lest it should become difficult for the government to feed new mouths properly due to lack of basic food necessitates for maintaining health of the new born babies. All the social development projects would go down the drain if population of the country continued to increase on the present rapid speed.
POST SCRIPT
-Lakki used to be extremely peaceful district of the country till recently. It has become one of the most disturbed districts, lately–thanks to never ending wave of terrorism which has knocked the struts from under its law and order machinery
-Danger of third world war will continue to linger on as long as Ukraine issue doesn’t subside, US doesn’t stop inciting Taiwan against China, West continues to pamper Tel Aviv, Washington tries to prop up against Moscow those central Asian countries which once were part of former Soviet union and tension between Tehran and Washington doesn’t end. Since more than one country are in possession of nuclear weapons the third world war might herald the end of humanity on planet earth if any of the above issues touched off a war.
