WNAM MONITORING: Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi said Friday that talks mediated by Muscat between Iran and the United States were “very serious,” helping clarify the positions of both sides and identify areas for possible progress.

In a post on the US social media company X, Albusaidi said the discussions were useful in outlining Iranian and American thinking, adding that the parties aim to reconvene in due course.

“We aim to reconvene in due course, with the results to be considered carefully in Tehran and Washington,” he added.

Iran and the US resumed their indirect nuclear diplomacy on Friday after weeks of heightened tensions, fuelled by US President Donald Trump’s threat of military action against the country.
