ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): President of the D-12 Markaz Traders Association and Deputy General Secretary of the Islamabad Estate Agents Association (IEAA), Muhammad Nauman, has said that the Capital Development Authority (CDA) must give due attention to D-12 Markaz, as the commercial center is facing several civic and infrastructure issues.

He stated that the number of Safe City surveillance cameras in D-12 Markaz is insufficient, there is a severe shortage of streetlights, and the overall cleanliness of the area is in poor condition. He urged the authorities to enhance security by increasing police patrolling and to ensure that regular daily cleaning operations are carried out throughout the market.

Muhammad Nauman further said that the market also lacks proper road carpeting and public washrooms. Although the CDA’s master plan provides for one public washroom after every four commercial plazas, these facilities do not exist on the ground. He emphasized that the relevant authorities must take immediate notice of these basic infrastructure deficiencies and ensure their prompt resolution.

He added that the newly elected traders’ union will continue to highlight the issues facing D-12 Markaz and will work closely with the concerned departments to ensure that these problems are resolved in the best interest of the business community and the public.
