WNAM REPORT: Starting the year on a high, Spotify has announced Nehaal Naseem as the first ambassador for its EQUAL Pakistan program for the year 2024. As part of the honor, Naseem’s track “Beqadra” has been featured on the EQUAL Pakistan playlist. This song, described by Naseem as her “baby,” has resonated deeply with fans, showcasing it as a clear favorite for the artist and her growing fanbase.
Nehaal Naseem, a young and vibrant voice in Pakistan’s music scene, has been making waves since her debut. Her career began in 2016, when a video of her singing went viral, showcasing her exceptional talent at just 11 years old. Since then, Naseem has captivated audiences with her melodious voice and heartfelt performances.
“It’s an honor for me to be selected at such an early age,” stated Nehaal, expressing her excitement. “I’m proud of the work the Spotify EQUAL campaign is doing in promoting talented female artists in Pakistan. I am hopeful it will help in leveling the playing field for female artists/musicians”, she added further.
Nehaal Naseem was featured as the Spotify Fresh Finds Pakistan artist last year after witnessing an astonishing 2852% growth in monthly listeners. Her track “Beqadra” has accumulated over 7 million streams since February 2023 featuring on Pakistan top charts for 49 weeks straight. Her journey from Fresh Finds to the EQUAL Pakistan artist showcases the extent to which aspiring artists can boost their reach through Spotify and its signature programs.
As the first EQUAL Pakistan ambassador for 2024, Nehaal Naseem joins a long list of inspirational voices honored by the initiative including legends like Hadiqa Kiani and Nazia Hassan along with fresh voices like Arooj Aftab, Maria Unera and Natasha Noorani to name a few, serving as a unique motivation for young and aspiring female artists. The EQUAL initiative by Spotify has played a crucial role over the years in boosting the visibility of talented women artists in the digital age, providing a platform where their voices can be heard and celebrated.
