ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, visited the BISP office in Mansehra today, where she inaugurated a Mobile Registration Van (MRV) to extend registration services to deserving individuals living in remote and underserved areas. Member of the Provincial Assembly, Ms. Meher Sultana Advocate, along with other women leaders, accompanied her on the occasion.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Senator Rubina Khalid stated that the Mobile Registration Van aims to bring BISP services closer to deserving families residing in areas where access to BISP offices is limited. She emphasized that this initiative will help ensure the timely registration of a greater number of eligible beneficiaries and further strengthen the delivery of social protection services.
Later, the BISP Chairperson met with women beneficiaries at the office, listened to their concerns, and directed the relevant officials to address their issues on a priority basis. She also provided detailed awareness regarding BISP’s new Digital Wallet System, free Benazir Mobile SIM, wallet activation, and the new payment mechanism. During her visit, she reviewed the process of Benazir Mobile SIM distribution and wallet activation.
Senator Rubina Khalid informed the beneficiaries that under the new Digital Wallet System, financial assistance will be transferred directly into the digital accounts of eligible women. The funds will remain securely available in their digital wallets, allowing beneficiaries to withdraw their payments at any time from authorized retailers at their convenience.
She emphasized that the free Benazir Mobile SIM should be obtained only from BISP offices. Beneficiaries must bring their original Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) and their personal mobile phone to facilitate immediate SIM activation and registration of the Digital Wallet.
The BISP Chairperson further advised women beneficiaries never to hand over their mobile phones to any agent or retailer while receiving payments, to safeguard their SIM cards and to immediately report any deduction, irregularity, or complaint to the nearest BISP office or through the Programme’s grievance redressal mechanism so that timely action can be taken.
