Pakistan-Belarus committed to strengthening cooperation across range of sectors

ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Cholpon-Ata to review the state of Pakistan-Belarus relations.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation across a range of sectors and looked ahead to the 9th Session of the Pakistan-Belarus Joint Ministerial Commission, set to take place in Islamabad on August 11–12, 2026, along with continued high-level engagement between the two countries.
The ministers discussed ways to expand economic and trade ties, deepen cooperation in defense, agriculture, technology, and workforce exchange, and reaffirmed their commitment to the bilateral Roadmap for Comprehensive Cooperation covering 2025–2027.
They also exchanged views on regional developments of shared interest, with Ryzhenkov commending Pakistan’s constructive role in facilitating dialogue during the recent US-Iran tensions and recognizing the country’s continued efforts to promote regional peace and stability.

Earlier Engagement in Minsk
In March 2026, Pakistan’s Ambassador Muhemmed Aejaz met with Mikalai Barysevich, Director General of Belarus’s National Center of Marketing, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral trade and economic ties.
The meeting, held in Minsk, focused on opportunities to boost trade, encourage investment, and facilitate the exchange of goods and services between the two countries.
Aejaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s interest in deepening economic relations with Belarus, highlighting potential areas for collaboration, while Barysevich expressed Belarus’s interest in expanding trade with Pakistan, noting the center’s role in identifying new markets, fostering business partnerships, and organizing trade exhibitions and delegations to help grow bilateral trade.
Both sides agreed to continue working together to support mutual economic growth, concluding the meeting with a shared commitment to strengthening the broader Pakistan-Belarus economic partnership going forward.
