ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT): On the evening of September 4th at the Vietnamese Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan, a solemn ceremony was held to commemorate the 81st anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2nd, 1945 – September 2nd, 2026). Attending the ceremony were: Member of Parliament Maulana Nasim Ali Shah, Director of the East Asia-Pacific Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan; representatives from several ministries and departments of Pakistan; Ambassadors and Chargé d’affaires of ASEAN countries, China, Japan, Cuba, North Korea, Poland , along with numerous representatives of the diplomatic corps, Vietnamese friends and the Vietnamese community in Islamabad.
Speaking at the commemoration ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Pakistan Pham Anh Tuan emphasized the great significance of Vietnam’s National Day on September 2nd, reviewing Vietnam’s outstanding development achievements over the past 81 years.In particular, Ambassador Pham Anh Tuan emphasized the success of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam in setting out the strategy and roadmap for Vietnam to successfully achieve two goals: becoming a developing country with modern industry and high middle income by 2030, and becoming a developed country with high income by 2045.
Expressing delight at the strong development of bilateral relations between Vietnam and Pakistan over the past 50 years, Ambassador Pham Anh Tuan stated that the outstanding achievements in the economic and cultural fields have created a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the Vietnam-Pakistan relationship.
The ambassador affirmed that Vietnam always values and wishes to further deepen the relationship between the two countries, for the common benefit of the people of both nations, and for peace and development in the region.
Member of Parliament Maulana Nasim Ali Shah, Director of the East Asia-Pacific Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, extended congratulations to the Government and people of Vietnam and all staff of the Vietnamese Embassy on the occasion of National Day.
Expressing admiration for Vietnam’s remarkable development achievements in many fields, Maulana Nasim Ali Shah stated that these great successes are due to the strategic vision of Vietnamese leaders. The economy has transformed from a purely agricultural production model to a high-tech agricultural model; creating favorable conditions to attract foreign investors to develop the country and integrate into the global economy…
“Pakistan doesn’t necessarily need to copy Vietnam’s development model, but rather needs to learn from and selectively absorb valuable lessons from Vietnam’s economic transition,” said MP Maulana Nasim Ali Shah.
Earlier, on September 2nd, on his official website, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari posted a congratulatory message to General Secretary and President To Lam, the Government, and the people of Vietnam on the occasion of the 81st National Day.In the letter, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized that since gaining independence in 1945, Vietnam has overcome many challenges and achieved remarkable progress in the political, economic, and social fields. The Pakistani President affirmed that Pakistan always values its good friendship with Vietnam and is committed to further strengthening bilateral cooperation to maximize potential for the common benefit of both nations. Expressing his delight that the two countries are looking forward to celebrating the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2027, President Asif Ali Zardari also respectfully extended an invitation to General Secretary and President To Lam to visit Pakistan to commemorate this important historical milestone and strengthen the friendship between the two countries.
