WNAM MONITORING: On 4 September, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, took part in and delivered a speech at a grand cultural event held at the central stadium of Bokhtar City in honor of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.
President Emomali Rahmon sincerely congratulated all the proud residents of Khatlon Province on the occasion of the sacred and great national celebration—the 35th anniversary of State Independence—and wished their families happiness, peace, and tranquility.
It was emphasized that the first years of independence were an extremely sensitive and decisive period in the recent history of the people of Tajikistan, particularly for the residents of Khatlon Province, and represented a major test of their determination and will.
It was noted that Khatlon Province, and especially the city of Bokhtar, which during the imposed civil war was considered one of the country’s areas of conflict and unrest, suffered significant material and moral losses during those years.
President Emomali Rahmon stated that, under the circumstances, the Government of the country made full use of all available opportunities and took urgent measures to protect public security, ensure the safety of the people, return refugees to their homeland, and provide the population of the province with peaceful and stable living conditions.
The Leader of the Nation emphasized the contribution of the determined and strong-willed people of Khatlon Province and the city of Bokhtar to the complex process of restoration and development.
It was noted that, thanks precisely to the timely measures implemented by the state and the Government, the tireless efforts of the hardworking people, and the contributions of patriotic entrepreneurs, today the cities and districts of Khatlon Province, including the city of Bokhtar, rank among the most beautiful regions of Tajikistan.
Taking the opportunity, Emomali Rahmon expressed his sincere gratitude to the proud and educated people, as well as the patriotic and generous entrepreneurs of the province and the city of Bokhtar.
President Emomali Rahmon stated that we must always remember that all our achievements and progress have been attained precisely thanks to State Independence, unity and solidarity, and the devoted labor of the honorable people of Tajikistan.
Emomali Rahmon stressed the need to make even greater efforts to preserve and strengthen the achievements of our modern statehood and to raise our children in the spirit of self-awareness and national consciousness, patriotism and love for the homeland, respect for national history and culture, and honest and dedicated work.
Addressing the country’s prosperous young people, the President stated that the youth of the independence era, who are the standard-bearers and successors of Aryan civilization and of the cultured and educated ancestors of the Tajik nation, must clearly understand that the bright future of this nation and state depends precisely on their efforts and dedication, strength of will and perseverance, and constructive labor.
“I believe in the high sense of patriotism, national pride and honor, courage and determination, loyalty, and love of work of the residents of Khatlon Province, including the ancient city of Bokhtar,” — the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, emphasized in concluding his speech.
Following the President’s speech, a grand theatrical cultural program dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of Tajikistan was held with the participation of 10,000 residents of the cities and districts of Khatlon Province.
The program featured songs and musical performances celebrating peace, solidarity and mutual understanding, the unity and friendship of the country’s people, the role of the Leader of the Nation in the modern statehood of Tajikistan, and the remarkable achievements of the independence era.
The commissioning of 8,360 social, industrial, and infrastructure facilities in Khatlon Province over the past five years has guided the province’s hardworking residents toward a bright future for the homeland and a prosperous life.
