WNAM MONITORING: The National Leader of the Turkmen people, head of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sent a congratulatory letter to the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in which he expressed gratitude for the decision to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the outstanding Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi in the country.
“Dear Shavkat Miromonovich,
Dear brother,
First of all, I would like to warmly welcome you and express my deep gratitude for your great personal contribution to the development and strengthening of relations of friendship, brotherhood and good neighborliness between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
A clear indication of this was your decision to widely celebrate the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi in Uzbekistan.
I fully share your words about the outstanding role of Magtymguly Fragi in the history of world literature and culture as an educator and humanist, whose creativity and philosophical heritage have forever entered the spiritual treasury of humanity. And of course, we always speak with a special sense of gratitude and pride about the enormous contribution that Magtymguly made to creating the foundation of brotherhood, friendship, and the unity of destinies of the Turkmen and Uzbek peoples.
Uzbekistan occupies a special place in the biography and work of Magtymguly. Having received an education in Khiva, having perfectly studied the history of Uzbekistan, he was imbued with sincere love for this land, deep respect and sympathy for its people and traditions.
It is natural that today Magtymguly’s poems are heard in the Uzbek language and are studied in schools and universities of Uzbekistan. Just like in Turkmenistan, the great Uzbek poets, thinkers and scientists Alisher Navoi, Mirza Ulugbek, Munis Khorezmi are known and revered.
I am convinced that the widespread celebration in Uzbekistan of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi will be another manifestation of the inviolability of fraternal ties between our peoples and states, the commonality of their historical destinies, our unity and readiness to always be together.
Once again, please accept my gratitude for the decision made.
Taking this opportunity, I convey to you the wishes of good health, prosperity, new successes in your state and political activities, and peace and prosperity to the people of Uzbekistan,” says the message of the National Leader of the Turkmen people.
