To admit one’s folly shows the greatness of the person or institution making such admission or confession. It goes to the credit of the apex court of this country to admit that full legal opportunity and right to adequately defend himself wasn’t provided to late Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in a murder case against him and his trial wasn’t a fair trial Small wonder hanging of Z A Bhutto had been billed as a judicial murder by many a legal expert. Granted that it took such a long time to reach at this conclusion but as they say better late than never, a blatant wrong has been righted now and those who righted it deserve hosannas.
It has been a tragedy of first magnitude that the state institutions have been more often than not transgressing their constitutional limits as a result of which this country has been always in such big turmoil.
Till the filing of this comment two provinces that is Panjab and KPK have formed their cabinets .One would have hoped that given the fact that the country is facing a financial crunch those who move in the corridor of power would keep the size of cabinet to the barest minimum but that is not to be. While in Panjab a cabinet comprising 18 ministers has taken over، in KPK 15 ministers have been sworn in. Time was when KPK was run by six ministers, including chief minister quite effectively but that was the time when people took part in politics for serving the common man. These days people join politics because it has become a very profitable business.
