LONDON (WNAM MONITORING): Forces from the Royal Saudi Navy concluded a joint maritime drill in Egypt on Thursday, collaborating with forces from Greece, Cyprus, France, and the host country, alongside 12 observing nations.
The Medusa-14 naval exercise is a three-day drill aimed at enhancing joint maritime capabilities and improving readiness across multiple domains. The final day involved maneuvers for naval infrastructure protection, anti-submarine operations, asymmetric warfare exercises, and attacks using speedboats, sea landings, and helicopter landings.
Forces conducted exercises in search and rescue, counter-air warfare, amphibious operations, and electronic warfare, including combat diving and tactical shooting, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Brig. Gen. Saad bin Safar Al-Ahmari said that the Royal Saudi Navy demonstrated professionalism and combat readiness in executing operations and tactics.
The closing ceremony featured high-ranking officers from the naval forces, including Maj. Gen. Mansour bin Saud Al-Jaeed, commander of the Saudi Western Fleet that operates in the Red Sea and is based at the King Faisal Naval Base in Jeddah.
