Jakarta( WNAM MONITORING): Jakarta must meet the parameter of having a well-established and globally connected economic structure to realize its vision of becoming a global city, acting governor Heru Budi Hartono has said.
“Jakarta must meet the parameter of a globally established and connected economy to realize being a competitive global city,” he added at the 2025 Regional Government Work Plan and the 2025–2045 Long-Term Regional Development Plan Conference here on Tuesday.
The economic parameter, he pointed out, includes good research and innovation capability, tourism and cultural support that attracts tourists, a clean and comfortable environment, and proper accessibility so that Jakarta remains visible as one of the major world cities.
Hartono then informed about the change of authority, as stipulated in the Jakarta Special Region (DKJ) Bill.
The bill covers some references, the global city index, and the Jakarta spatial plan. He said that the references need to be implemented in the city planning documents, both for the long, medium, and annual terms.
Furthermore, the acting governor explained, the provincial government needs to consider budget limitations that could affect the acceleration of infrastructure development.
Then, there has been a paradigm shift toward the holding of international standard activities and the creation of new urban economic activities to help Jakarta become a competitive global city.
The 2025 Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD) conference or musrenbang was carried out to align the priority issues for 2025.
Meanwhile, the 2025–2045 Long-Term Regional Development Plan (RPJPD) aims to set Jakarta’s vision, mission, main goals, and policy direction for the next 20 years and is in line with the Long-Term National Development Plan.
