On May 15, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus Constantinos Kombos, which resulted in the signing of an agreement on the exemption of holders of diplomatic passports from visa requirements, Uzbekistan MFA reports.
Issues of expanding bilateral relations, strengthening the legal framework and supporting friendly relations between parliaments were also discussed at the meeting.
“Undoubtedly, the promotion of dynamic economic diplomacy remains our top priority. We are glad to sign an intergovernmental agreement on the exemption of holders of diplomatic passports from visa requirements”, B. Saidov noted.
Earlier, Uzbekistan and Cyprus Foreign Ministers met on the sidelines of the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York in September 2023, where they held talks on realizing the existing potential for cooperation.
