WNAM MONITORING: As part of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the eminent Turkmen poet and philosopher Magtymguly Pyragy, a photo exhibition titled Magtymguly Pyragy: A View from Georgia opened on July 26, 2024, at the House of Akhundov gallery. The event was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia.
The event was attended by heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Georgia, representatives of Georgian ministries and agencies, professional photographers and photography enthusiasts, cultural and artistic figures, representatives of the scientific community, and members of the media.
The photo exhibition featured over 50 works by Turkmen artists, depicting well-known events from Magtymguly’s life. The paintings were displayed against the backdrop of Turkmen national music.
Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Georgia, Dovletmyrat Seyitmammedov, addressed the gathering with a welcome speech. He noted that the event would help to familiarize the global community with the works of Magtymguly Pyragy and strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the brotherly nations.
Beka Mikautadze, head of the Krtsanisi district of Tbilisi, also addressed the guests. He congratulated Turkmenistan on the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy and emphasized that the cultural and humanitarian sphere is an integral part of the modern Turkmen-Georgian interstate dialogue. He wished for the successful hosting of the photo exhibition and stressed that such events would further strengthen ties in culture, science, and education between Turkmenistan and Georgia. The exhibition will be open to the public until August 2, 2024.
