WNAM MONITORING: The Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (ISRS) and the National Institute of Strategic Initiatives under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic (NISI) signed a Memorandum on the establishment of the Uzbekistan – Kyrgyzstan Expert Council.
The creation of the Council will become an essential mechanism for expert support in implementing the agreements reached following the results of the Uzbekistan – Kyrgyzstan Summit held on July 18-19 this year.
The Council is designed to regularize and substantively enhance the expert dialogue between the countries through the involvement of specialized experts and specialists.
As part of this mechanism, special attention will be paid to the analysis of the state and the search for new growth points in the trade and economic, industrial and technological, cultural, and humanitarian spheres of interaction.
In addition, experts will focus on promoting the initiatives of the heads of the two states, including in the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, water and energy cooperation in the context of the construction of the Kambarata HPP-1, which will have a multiplier effect on the development of the economies of all countries in the region.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on developing a Roadmap, which provides for holding joint conferences, workshops, roundtable discussions, and research on issues of mutual interest by the end of 2024.
