WNAM REPORT: UN Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan Sabine Machl visited the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At the meeting with Senate Chairperson Tanzila Narbayeva, the projects being implemented, plans for the future, issues of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and ensuring human rights and gender equality were discussed.
Sabine Machl noted that Uzbekistan has achieved high results in recent years due to the implementation of an open policy and large-scale reforms. This serves as an example for other states.
At the meeting, proposals were put forward for joint work as part of the project “16 days of activism against gender-based violence” and the development of training programs to improve the activities of local Councils.
