WNAM REPORT: Large-scale activities are being carried out in Uzbekistan as part of the implementation of the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures for further support of the poultry sector, introduction of modern genetic technologies and cooperation system” of June 27, 2024.
As part of this resolution, in cooperation with the Committee of Veterinary and Livestock Development and the Parrandasanoat Association, negotiations with a large Indian genetic company on the issue of creating practical opportunities for the production of breeding materials for the meat industry in Uzbekistan were organized.According to the proposal of a foreign genetic company, a joint venture in Uzbekistan is planned to create the following directions. In the first stage, in 2024-2025, an enterprise will be established to breed a pure line of meat-oriented poultry. In the second stage, in 2025, 100,000 first-order breeder enterprises and hatcheries are planned to be built, paving the way for a significant growth in the poultry sector.
The Indian side, together with partner companies in Uzbekistan, has announced its readiness to supply 4 million heads of 2nd-order breeding material (parental herd) annually for the needs of Central Asian countries. This collaboration is expected to significantly reduce transportation costs for imported breeding material to Uzbekistan, thereby boosting the poultry sector in the region.
Furthermore, the parties underscored the critical importance of increasing production capacity.
