WNAM MONITORING: On September 2, representatives of government organizations and the public of Tashkent gathered to honor Islam Karimov’s memory.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the ceremony and laid a wreath at the monument to the country’s First President.
Islam Karimov is the leader who proclaimed the country’s independence and led it to the path of progress. The Head of state, in his speech at the celebration of Independence Day, emphasized the significance of this historical event:
“It is thanks to independence that our national statehood was revived. Uzbekistan entered a new historical era. Thanks to independence, we have taken a worthy place in the world community”.
On these significant days, we remember with gratitude the patriots who fought for independence and contributed to the formation of the state. At this turning point in the country’s history, under challenging conditions, the First President stood at the head of the country.
Surahs from the Quran were recited in the Scientific and Educational Memorial Complex named after Islam Karimov. The merits of the First President in maintaining peace and stability in the country and increasing the well-being of the people were noted.
During the ceremony, representatives of the Oliy Majlis, the Presidential Administration, the Cabinet of Ministers, ministries and agencies, and the public laid flowers at the monument to the First President.
Memorial events were also held in Samarkand and Karshi.
