WNAM MONITORING: There are countries in the world that are called tourist countries. These include, in particular, France, Spain, Türkiye, Egypt, and Thailand.
In recent years, Uzbekistan has become the country most often searched for on the world map. The number of tourists coming to the country is multiplying, and the range of countries from which guests arrive is expanding. In Uzbekistan, all the necessary infrastructure is being created to receive 10 million tourists by 2030.
Tourist routes to Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva are usually the most popular. Recently, the flow of foreign tourists to other regions of Uzbekistan has also increased. For example, in 2023, 421 thousand tourists visited Fergana region, and in the first 9 months of this year, their number reached 420.2 thousand people.
The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), one of the largest public service broadcasters in the world, shows a video about Fergana region’s tourism potential.
“The BBC creative team visited our region and spent several days filming monuments in Kokand, Margilan, Buvayda, and Rishtan districts”, says Deputy Hokim of Fergana region Khurshid Akhmedov. “As part of the creative cooperation, journalists from London got acquainted with the activities of two large enterprises and filmed a video here”.
The BBC video offers a new perspective on Fergana region. It shows folk crafts, architectural objects, and, most importantly, an image of a creative person.
