WNAM MONITORING: Trade volume between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) increased by 5.9 percent in the first half of 2024, reaching approximately $1.3 billion. UAE Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ahmed Alhai Al-Hameli announced this during the celebrations for the 53rd anniversary of the UAE National Day, as reported by the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.
Al-Hameli noted that the UAE has become Turkmenistan’s fourth-largest trading partner. In the coming years, the countries plan to significantly increase mutual trade volume, nearly doubling current figures.
He emphasized that relations between the UAE and Turkmenistan consistently yield excellent results and demonstrate active engagement at the leadership level of both countries.
In 2023, trade volume between Turkmenistan and the UAE reached $1.29 billion, representing a 15.8 percent increase compared to 2022. Exports from Turkmenistan to the UAE rose by 13.3 percent, while imports from the UAE to Turkmenistan increased by 16.2 percent.
