WNAM REPORT: On November 8, a meeting of the Board of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship was held in the city of Arkadag.
The meeting was chaired by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the participation of members of the board, as well as the Chairman of the State Committee for Construction of the city of Arkadag under the President of Turkmenistan D. Orazov and the mayor of the city of Arkadag G. Mammedova.
The agenda included the following issues: the results of the activities of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship for the past period; changes made to legislative legal acts; expenditure of funds of the Charitable Foundation; the results of the work of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Center for this year, etc.
Vice President of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care R. Bazarov reported on the work done by the Foundation over the past period and the tasks for the future.
He reported that, at the expense of the Charity Fund, according to the requests received, 500 operations were performed on sick children, including 261 this year; preventive examinations were carried out, and children were fully provided with medical supplies.
Thus, the Dialog + hemodialysis machine of the B. Braun company of the Federal Republic of Germany was installed in the children’s departments of hospitals in Ashgabat and the velayats. As reported, in accordance with the approved plan, a lot of work is being done at the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Center in the city of Arkadag to restore the health of children. The activities of the Fund at the international level were also reported. Thus, humanitarian aid was sent to children from Turkey, Ukraine, the Russian Federation, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Palestine, who suffered from disasters.
It was noted that the students of the school built by Turkmen builders in the Khatlon region of the Republic of Tajikistan were given computers at the expense of the Fund, and baby food produced by the medical cluster was sent to Afghanistan. At the 57th session of the UN Commission on Population and Development, much attention was paid to the humanitarian activities of the Fund to provide assistance to children in need of care named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, which indicates an increase in the reputation of the Fund in the international arena.
Thanks to the support of the Fund, on the occasion of the New Year, International Children’s Day and other significant holidays, children raised in orphanages located in different parts of the country are given gifts in the capital’s Döwletliler köşgi Palace, and their graduates are given computers. It should be noted that creative competitions held among children are also sponsored by the Fund.
Having heard the report, the National Leader of the Turkmen people instructed to constantly improve the activities of the Fund and carry out the necessary work in order to successfully solve the tasks set, giving a number of instructions in this regard.
During the meeting, the floor was given to a member of the Board of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship, accountant E. Chernova.
She reported on the planned funds for charitable humanitarian aid in 2025 as part of the report on the amount of financial resources received by the Fund. This is defined as funds allocated by the Fund based on applications from needy families.
E. Chernova submitted for consideration a document on the established amount of funds intended for the purchase of gift products on the occasion of anniversaries, organizing medical care for sick children, and financing humanitarian aid.
In order to support people who applied to the Charitable Foundation, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a corresponding document and instructed the relevant managers to strictly monitor the successful implementation of the tasks arising from it.
Member of the Board of the Foundation, Director of the Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Center named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov M. Okuzovoy reported that 985 disabled children were treated at the Center during the reporting period. In total, 27 children successfully graduated from the kindergarten at the Center this year and entered schools in the city of Arkadag. Today, about 100 children are being educated here.
In addition, children from the velayats and Ashgabat have currently completed the second course of rehabilitation treatment based on the plan approved by the doctor Arkadag.
It was noted that during the reporting period, within the framework of the trilateral Memorandum concluded with the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of the country and the Austrian company «SANLAS Holding GmbH», relevant events were held to study world experience in the field of rehabilitation medicine.
In addition, a group of doctors and teachers of the Center organized and took part in international training conferences «Early Child Development and Early Integration», «Exchange of Experience in Treating Children with Various Types of Autism».
Proposals are being prepared for the direction of advanced training of specialized specialists such as «clinical pedagogy of the deaf», «clinical speech therapy», «clinical psychology».
After hearing the report, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that he supports the Vice President of the Foundation for Medical Work on the proposal of the Board members, and instructed the Director of the Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Center M. Okuzova to consider the Foundation’s work plan for next year together with O. Atabaeva, emphasizing that he will support this proposal after their decision.
During the meeting, the head of the State Committee for Construction of the city of Arkadag under the President of Turkmenistan D. Orazov reported on the ongoing work to increase the pace of construction of medical cluster buildings on the territory of the new city. He also reported that several types of medicines are currently being produced and sent to healthcare institutions here.
Hakim of the city of Arkadag G. Mammedova reported on preparations for the International Day of Neutrality and the New Year holiday, including celebrations and gifts.
