WNAM REPORT: According to the Statistics Agency under the President of Uzbekistan, trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan for January-November 2024 amounted to 1 billion 75.3 million US dollars, an increase of 100.2 million dollars compared to the same period last year.
An analysis of the dynamics of trade relations shows steady growth: if in January-November 2021 the volume of trade turnover was 761.2 million dollars, then by the same period in 2023 it reached 970.1 million dollars.
During the reporting period, Turkmenistan ranked 7th among importers and 18th among exporters of Uzbekistan. Turkmen goods worth $964.9 million were delivered to the Uzbek market, which is $155.3 million more than a year earlier. Imports from Uzbekistan amounted to $110.4 million.
In the overall ranking of Uzbekistan’s foreign trade partners, Turkmenistan ranked sixth, behind China ($11.255 billion), Russia ($10.681 billion), Kazakhstan ($3.854 billion), Turkey ($2.635 billion) and the Republic of Korea ($1.809 billion). Uzbekistan’s total foreign trade turnover for the first 11 months of 2024 reached $59.368 billion, of which $24.223 billion was exported and $35.145 billion was imported.
