WNAM REPORT: Indonesian Hajj Organizing Agency Head Mochammad Irfan stated that the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the governments of Indonesia and Saudi Arabia signifies the commencement of Indonesia’s 2025 Hajj preparations.

“The MoU signing marks the start of the preparation process for the Hajj implementation, especially for pilgrims for Indonesia,” he noted in a statement here on Monday.

Earlier on Sunday, Indonesian Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar and Hajj and Umrah Minister of Saudi Arabia Tawfiq bin Fawzan AlRabiah in Jeddah inked an MoU on the 2025 Hajj, which includes details about the Hajj pilgrim quota.

Irfan expressed appreciation for the commitment and positive response of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia regarding various proposals put forth by the Indonesian government.

He added that while several policies could not be changed, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia is still reviewing several proposals from Indonesia.

The MoU also serves as a fundamental basis for implementing the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage, which will be managed entirely by the Hajj Organizing Agency. In addition to attending the MoU signing, the Hajj Organizing Agency head is scheduled to attend a Hajj conference and exhibition on Monday.

Irfan noted that the Hajj exhibition is a strategic momentum to determine and select quality services for this year’s Hajj season.

Indonesia will dispatch 221 thousand Hajj pilgrims in 2025. Meanwhile, the number of Indonesian Hajj officers is capped at 2,210 this year.

As many as 110,500 pilgrims will arrive through Prince Mohammad Bin Abdul Aziz International Airport in Medina and return via King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah.

The other 110,500 pilgrims will arrive through King Abdul Aziz International Airport and return via Prince Mohammad Bin Abdul Aziz International Airport.
