WNAM MONITORING: At the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States, a presentation entitled “Uzbekistan – on the international stage” was organized for the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation fellows and foreign students studying in Political Science and International Relations at the universities of Arizona, Texas, Florida, and Tampa.
The event was also attended by future politicians undergoing internships at the State Department, White House, Congress, and other U.S. government agencies.
The participants were informed about the socio-economic reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan. In particular, efforts aimed at liberalizing the economy, fighting corruption, ensuring human rights and freedoms, strengthening the rule of law, implementing Uzbekistan’s initiatives to strengthen good-neighborly relations, ensuring regional and global security, expanding international cooperation and strategic development of the country were discussed in detail. Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, transport and logistics capabilities of the country, and the place of Uzbek products on the world market were analyzed.
The participants were also informed about Uzbekistan’s historical and cultural legacy, including the unique features of the cities on the UNESCO World Heritage List – Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, and Shakhrisabz.
