Tashkent ( WNAM MONITORING): The “Silk Road Samarkand” tourist complex has completed 2024 by reinforcing its position as a leading center for MICE tourism and cultural leisure in Central Asia.
Key achievements of 2024:
More than 20 major international events: This includes the COP14 of the CMS Convention, the FIA General Assembly, the World Rowing Championship, and the meeting of the Board of Directors of the AIBB. The complex hosted over 150,000 guests, including German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Coca-Cola CEO James Quincey.
A 50% increase in visitor numbers: 80,028 guests stayed at the eight hotels of the complex, demonstrating growing interest from tourists from Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and the European Union.
Prestigious awards: “Silk Road Samarkand” received an award for leadership in MICE tourism, “Savitsky Plaza” was recognized as the best-designed hotel, and the operational manager of Hilton Garden Inn Sogd was named the best in Uzbekistan.
Infrastructure development: The opening of the Waterland water park and the Quran Museum in the Ethnographic Park “Eternal City.”
Commitment to environmental standards: The operation of a solar power station, the installation of solar panels, and “Smart Room” systems to reduce energy consumption. Certification according to international ISO standards.
Plans for 2025:
Holding the 43rd UNESCO session.
Modernization of the “Savitsky Plaza,” “Wellness Park Hotel Turon,” and “Sogd” hotels.
Expansion of the Bio-lake and Expo Center.
