WNAM REPORT: A conference entitled “International Year of Peace and Trust: Cooperation for Peace” was held in Islamabad, organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Pakistan jointly with the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator in Pakistan and the Islamabad Institute of Strategic Studies.
During the two-section conference, Ambassador of Turkmenistan A. Movlamov spoke about the country’s policy to consolidate international efforts to strengthen peace and trust in international relations. Particular attention was paid to Turkmenistan’s initiative, supported by the UN General Assembly, to declare 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust, as well as the adopted Concept of Priority Areas of Work during this year.
The event was attended by senior representatives of Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, academia and international organizations, including Additional Secretary to the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan Syed Haidar Shah and UN Resident Coordinator in Pakistan Mohamed Yahya. The participants emphasized the importance of joint efforts to create conditions for restoring dialogue among peoples and strengthening mutual trust in international politics, noting the particular relevance of these principles in the context of existing global challenges.
