WNAM MONITORING: The Central Asian Conference on Climate Change (CACCC-2025) will take place in Ashgabat from May 13 to 15, 2025. The event, held for the seventh time, will focus on attracting climate finance, regional cooperation, and sustainable development, as reported by the official media of Turkmenistan on Wednesday.
Government officials, international organizations, and experts from Central Asia will discuss climate investments and the region’s transition to a green economy. Key topics will include water and energy security, climate adaptation, and financing sustainable projects.
Participants will present the third version of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC 3.0) and review the region’s climate action progress. The conference will pay special attention to challenges like rising temperatures, desertification, and glacier melt.
The Regional Environmental Center for Central Asia (CAREC) organizes the conference in collaboration with the World Bank, the Central Asia Water and Energy Program (CAWEP), the RESILAND CA+ program, and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
Applications for in-person participation are open until February 28, 2025, with online participation available as well.
