WNAM Monitoring: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov participated in the New Year’s celebration at the country’s main New Year Tree on the square in front of the Älem Cultural and Entertainment Centre on Thursday, the official Turkmen media reports.
The country’s Main New Year Tree is decorated with an eight-rayed star and the number 2024. The tree stands at a height of 43 meters and 16 meters wide.
During the event, the children presented prepared poems to the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The Head of State and the children visited the country’s main New Year Tree.
The main heroes of the New Year celebration, Ayaz Baba (Father Frost) and Garpamyk (Snow Maiden), as well as children in costumes of symbols of the 2023 year of the rabbit and the coming 2024 year of the fish, congratulated Serdar Berdimuhamedov on behalf of the younger generation and all compatriots on New Year’s Day.
The President of Turkmenistan attended the song and music presentations by the young performers, thanked them for their beautiful performances and shared the joy with the children by participating in a round dance around the New Year’s tree.
