WNAM MONITORING: Ashgabat has transformed into a hub of international fashion, bringing together leading designers from various countries for a large-scale fashion show that commemorates the 17th anniversary of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, as reported by the official media of Turkmenistan on Monday.
The event showcased a harmonious blend of Eastern traditions and Western trends.
International participation added special status to the show. Designers from the Italian atelier Maison Avaro Figlio, the Vivienne Westwood collection, and French designer Claude Patrick amazed the audience with their exquisite tailoring and quality craftsmanship.
The Moroccan brand Hind Berrada from Maison Regalia presented Eastern style with silk dresses adorned with traditional patterns, while the Omani brand Yoland Brand, created by designers Razan and Mazen Abdullah, gained attention from the prince and princess of the Sultanate of Oman during their visit.
Turkmen designers, including Miras Mähirli Zenan, Jennet tagty, Mynasyp, Nagyşly güzer, Gölli, Aina Sari, and Aýperi, showcased their mastery by transforming national motifs into contemporary designs. They combined traditional ornaments, embroidery techniques, and characteristic silhouettes with modern trends to create a recognizable Turkmen style.
The event received widespread international coverage in publications such as Vogue, ELLE, and Vanity Fair, as well as on channels like Fashion TV and Al Arabiya TV. This coverage confirmed Ashgabat’s status as a UNESCO Creative City in the category of Design and strengthened its position on the global fashion industry map.
