WNAM REPORT : Tourism festivals “Uzbekistan – the Pearl of the Silk Road” have successfully taken place in Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad.
The events were organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan in cooperation with the Committee on Tourism under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the assistance of the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation.
The festivals included Pakistan’s leading travel agencies and companies, media representatives, and industry experts. During the events, guests were informed about tourist routes in Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Tashkent, Shakhrisabz, Kokand, and Akhsikent. Special attention was paid to pilgrimage, cultural, gastronomic, and ecological tourism.
B2B business meetings were held between tour operators in Uzbekistan and Pakistan, with the aim of developing partnerships and implementing mutually beneficial projects.
The tasting of Uzbek national cuisine was one of the festivals’ highlights. According to organizers, the gastronomic flavor arouse even greater interest in the country’s culture and traditions.
The events were heavily attended by the diplomats, business leaders belonging to different sectors, government high ups and the media persons.
It is noteworthy, that the Uzbekistan Embassy played pivotal role in the success of these events which will definitely yield fruits and the two countries relations in multilateral sectors will enhance for the benefit of the sides.
