Washington wants to use India as a stick to beat China. The recent Defence pact between India and the US may be, therefore, seen in this context but this pact will prove an exercise in futility as India has neither the grit, courage not determination to get the better of China in war. New Delhi has been licking the wounds even today of the drubbing it got from the hands of China in its war against Beijing in 1960s.Trump is therefore. betting on the wrong horse.

Thanks to the mediation of Turkey and Qatar the parleys between Pakistan and Afghanistan have been going on well hitherto but unless and until a fool proof visa regimen is enforced in letter and spirit between Kabul and Islamabad and entry into Pakistan of Afghan nationals isn’t made subservient to visa the influx of Afghanis into Pakistan will continue unabated which will be benefitted by the terrorists who will find an easy access into Pakistan for carrying out terrorist activities inside Pakistan. It is a pity that hitherto proper attention is not being paid in this respect.
