WNAM REPORT: On May 15, a meeting was held in the building of the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in the city of Herat between the head of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) Ms. Tomoko Kutoba and the Consul General of Turkmenistan Batyr Yolov, the press service of the Turkmen Consulate General reported to Turkmenportal.
The parties discussed key issues of interaction and noted the high level of multifaceted cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan.
During the talks, the participants noted the significant initiatives of the Government of Turkmenistan to promote the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan gas pipeline, power lines and fiber-optic communication systems. Increasing the intensity of rail traffic between the countries was also discussed.
Following the meeting, the representatives confirmed their mutual interest in strengthening cooperation and filling it with new content.
